LONDON — Noted sculptor Xu Hongfei brings an exhibition of his works to centralLondonthis June, following appearances inFrance,Italy,Australia, as well as his nativeChina.

Xu, who currently serves as president of theGuangzhouSculptureAcademy, creates works that have been acclaimed for their humorous verisimilitude and canny portrayals of everyday life in contemporary urbanChina.

Presented in collaboration with the government ofGuangzhou, this exhibition promises to disarm viewers with its candid, snapshot-like perspectives on a faraway quotidian reality, magically transplanted to an iconic quarter of the British capital, just a stone’s throw away fromTowerBridge.

Xu Hongfei has shown his work at international high profile venues around the world. In his nativeChinahe has exhibited at the National Art Museum of China, the Beijing Olympic Art Center, the Guangdong Museum of Art, the Guangzhou Museum of Art, and theHong KongArtsCenter. Prior toLondon, this exhibition traveled to the Carousel du Louvre inParis, and previously also came to venues inItaly,Australia, andChina.

Xu Hongfei’s exhibition runs June 3 through 17 at The Queen’s Walk, City Hall Square, London, SE1 2AA.
